Comprised of the departments of music, theatre, and cinema, the Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts offers a range of performances open to the public, including opera and musical theatre, instrumental and choral ensembles and theatre productions. Theater 101, the newest venue, is a high-tech black box performance space whose entrance looks out onto College Avenue in downtown Blacksburg.
Burruss Hall Auditorium, located in Virginia Tech’s main administrative building, Burruss Hall, on the Drillfield, hosts all sorts of performances and presentations.
The Studio Theatre, located on the second floor of Squires Student Center, is an intimate venue featuring classic and contemporary plays and performances by the theater department.
The Recital Salon, on the second floor of Squires Student Center, features performances by the music department.
The Commonwealth Ballroom, on the second floor of Squires Student Center, is a multi-purpose facility with a large stage.
Old Dominion Ballroom, on the first floor of Squires Student Center, is a smaller, multipurpose facility.
Haymarket Theatre, on the second floor of Squires Student Center, is a 500-seat theatre.
Colonial Hall, on the second floor of Squires Student Center, is a 650-seat theatre/classroom-style facility.
