Virginia Tech School of Visual Arts
An active presence in Blacksburg’s thriving arts scene, the School of Visual Arts (SOVA) at Virginia Tech offers undergraduate students an expansive education in fine art, art history, and visual and digital design, embracing contemporary and traditional techniques.
Besides instruction, SOVA faculty participate in creative activities, scholarly research, and community outreach to promote the visual arts.
A principal goal of the school is to develop programs and interdisciplinary collaborations within and beyond the university. To that end, SOVA serves the public sector through events, exhibitions, internships, competitions, workshops, and courses that sustain the vitality of art and design.
