Whether you’re a full time resident or just visiting for the weekend, one of the first things you’ll notice is how easy it is to get to your destination. First of all, Blacksburg is a very walkable town. Throughout the community you’ll find wide sidewalks and brightly marked pedestrian crossings, in addition to an outstanding trail system. Also servicing the campus and town is the Blacksburg Transit bus system with sheltered stops on almost every street corner. If you prefer to drive, you can easily navigate the town and access numerous parking lots and facilities using easy to follow way finding signs. Lastly, biking is more than just outdoor recreation in Blacksburg. Many people use their bikes to commute to work or to their favorite hangouts and bike racks are located at convenient locations throughout town.
