A community gathering place that always draws a crowd, the farmers market occupies downtown’s open-air Market Square Park, renovated in 2010 to incorporate a number of sustainable development features, including a timber frame structure made of locally harvested white oak and pine and the replacement of paving with landscaping. More than 40 vendors within 50 miles of Blacksburg bring their wares to the twice-weekly market, which features live music, educational opportunities, child-friendly activities, and special events throughout the year.
