Round the Mountain: Southwest Virginia’s Artisan Network is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote sustainable economic development of the region’s communities by assisting local artisans with marketing, educational, and entrepreneurial opportunities. The Montgomery County Artisan Trail includes stops at visitor-friendly galleries and artisan studios who not only exhibit and sell amazing work, but also offer classes for apprentices. Along with the museums, galleries, gardens, and dramatic architecture of the Virginia Tech campus and the county’s sprawling, working farms, the artisan trail hums with the sights and sounds of a region carrying on its rich cultural heritage.
