Experience one of the greatest drives in the country right on our doorstep.

It’s an ideal setting for boating, swimming, camping, hiking and picnicking. Sport fishing is especially popular. Boating supplies, fuel and refreshments are available at the marina. Twelve cabins overlook the 4,500-acre lake.

Grayson Highlands offers scenic views of alpine-like peaks more than 5,000 feet high. Facilities include a visitor center, campgrounds, and hiking trails leading to waterfalls and overlooks. The park provides year-round access to the Appalachian Trail and the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail.

The Hahn Horticulture Garden encompasses nearly six acres of teaching and display gardens on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Established in 1984 by Horticulture faculty, the garden serves undergraduate students and the local community as a learning resource for plant material, landscaping concepts, and environmental awareness.

Located behind the Christiansburg Middle School, the Harkrader Sports Complex has three lighted multi-purpose fields, a press box, concessions area, and restrooms. There’s also a walking path, tennis and basketball courts, picnic tables, and two playground areas.

A special and unique part of history is found at Mabry Mill. Originally built in 1910, the historic water-powered grist mill, sawmill and nearby blacksmith shop provide the visitor with a view of pioneer life along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Located along the historic New River, the New River Junction features tubing, camping, fishing and live music at Big Falls Park.

This 20,000-acre man-made lake has 500 miles of shoreline. Additionally, Smith Mountain Lake State Park offers more than 1,500 acres with hiking trails, picnic areas and ranger programs, such as guided night hikes and canoe trips.
