Interfaith Food Pantry

The Interfaith Food Pantry (IFP) was founded to serve families of Blacksburg and McCoy. The IFP is run entirely by volunteers and all client needs are met through cash and food donations. The pantry is open five days a week and serves several hundred families a month.

Micah’s Backpack

Micah’s Backpack partners with 10 Blacksburg schools to provide direct food assistance for children from low-income families. Every Friday during the school year, the identified students receive a backpack filled with two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, snacks, juice and milk boxes, and an educational piece.

New River Valley Community Action

NRCA is a private 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization serving Radford City and the Counties of Montgomery, Giles, Floyd and Pulaski in rural southwestern Virginia. The NRCA strives to help local communities to recognize and alleviate their own poverty conditions. NRCA works with the community’s most vulnerable residents including the homeless, ex-offenders, the disabled, and struggling young families through programs such as Head Start, Children’s Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP), Homeless and Housing Programs, VA CARES services to ex-offenders, SwiftStart, AmeriCorps, Emergency Assistance and Food Pantries.
